KLINSMANN RULES OUT SPURS SWITCH

The United States national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann has said that he will not be returning to Tottenham as the manager. Jurgen Klinsmann is regarded as one of the fans favourite at the White Hart Lane. Tottenham recently sacked their manager Harry Redknapp after he fell out with chairman Daniel Levy. The future of Harry Redknapp has been under major scrutiny in the last few weeks when it emerged that he has had a major bust up with chairman Daniel Levy. Even though Redknapp has denied the speculation, he recently left the post as the manager after four years in charge.

Harry Redknapp took over at Tottenham when they were in the relegation zone, but has guided them to two fourth place finishes in the Premier league. Tottenham qualified for the Champions League for the first time under Harry Redknapp, but they failed to do so this season due to the victory for Chelsea in the final against Bayern Munich. As a result, Tottenham have to play in the Europa league. More than the prospect of playing in the second grade European competition, Daniel Levy is thought to be extremely furious at the way Tottenham threw a 10 point advantage in the league.

‘It just isn’t a realistic proposition for Jurgen at the moment. He has very fond memories of his time at White Hart Lane and needs no reminding that it is a big job. He has the utmost respect for Tottenham. But the timing isn’t right. He has no thoughts of leaving the post he has at the moment and is totally committed to leading the United States into the next World Cup,’ said Jurgen Klinsmann’s spokesman Roland Eitel. The former Tottenham player has emerged as one of the favourites to succeed Harry Redknapp at White Hart Lane.
